When investing in cabinets, shelves, closets, vanities and other types of carpentry, clients want to see straight lines, sharp corners, and materials flush with the surface. The overall look should be clean and precise.

One of the most critical yet overlooked factors in achieving a clean and precise look, is surface preparation. If the walls on which cabinets, shelves, closets, vanities, etc. are being installed are not even, smooth and properly fortified, it doesn’t matter how high-end the cabinetry, it will not achieve the desired look. Conversely, economically-priced cabinetry can look like a million bucks when installed on a properly prepared surface.

Most walls are not perfectly straight and flat. Wood warps and bows over time, and in some instances, the wall may not have been built evenly from the start. To the naked eye, everything looks fine, but it’s not. Prior to installation, we carefully assess and test walls – for evenness, smoothness and strength. Based on what we find, we may fully remove and install a new wall (most invasive); remove and re-install sheet rock (mid-invasive); or fill in wall gaps, smooth and re-paint the surface (least invasive).

Our thorough approach ensures that installed cabinetry looks clean, precise and can safely withstand years of use.
